WEL Networks owns and manages the electrical lines network in Hamilton and the greater Waikato area. We are proud to provide a highly reliable electricity supply to over 94,000 homes and businesses. With a staff of 250, working out of our modern, purpose built complex in Te Rapa we provide a fully integrated electricity network management service which includes planning, design, delivery and operation.
We are looking for a self-motivated and passionate Asset Engineer to join the Asset Management team
The purpose of this role is to lead asset reliability and performance within the Asset Management team. WEL is in the early stages of implementing the ISO55001 Asset Management system and we are looking for someone that can drive these principles into our systems and processes. The Asset Engineer will also monitor the performance of network assets and target measurement, analysis, maintenance and asset replacement, to achieve greater asset reliability.
Support the ISO55001 Project Manager by leading the Asset Management team in our ISO55001 journey
Gather and interpret reliability and fault cause data to assist in preventative maintenance and asset replacement strategies
Create asset management plans and strategies for all major asset groups
Work collaboratively with members of your team and help guide them in creating maintenance plans that align with the Reliability Centred Maintenance principles and methodology
Develop business cases to resolve network performance issues and assist with the updating of the Asset Management Plan
Skills & Experiences
A strong understanding of the principles underpinning ISO55000
5-10 years’ experience in strategically delivering predictive and preventative engineering in a power system environment
Proven reliability engineering know-how
Knowledge of the distribution network industry
An appropriate tertiary qualification
Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities
